About

The streets of our town are not named only to help us find our way around the community. They also helps us to preserve and understand the history that made Grimsby what it is today. When our community was still a village, town fathers were choosing street names that had significance for the people of Grimsby. Names like Main Stree, Mountain Street, Oak Street, Elm Street, Cherryhill Drive and Cherrywood Avenue are self explanatory. But who was Elizabeth or Adelaide? Why did Nelles, Robinson, Doran, Gibson and Livingston families deserve to have their names immortalized on the maps of Grimsby? These are questions the visitor or newcomer to Grimsby may well ask.
