Suspicion: After a reserved young heiress marries a playboy, she begins to suspect him of trying to murder her.
Strangers on a train: A tennis star hates his estranged wife and wants to be free to marry another woman. He meets someone on a train who hates his father. They will each kill the other's victim, leaving no clues and no motives.
I confess: Clift plays a priest who upholds the sanctity of the confessional where he listened to a murderer admit to a crime, even though he himself is accused. Baxter plays a former girlfriend whose fantasies about Clift complicate the issues.
The wrong man: A New York musician is mistaken for a look-alike criminal, jailed and brought to trial. Based on the true story of Manny Balestrero.
